چکیده مقاله
Today, more than 75% of total consumption of the polyurethane in the world is in the foam form and a significant portion of this foam is used as coatings in various industries. Production and consumption of these types of coatings has a growing trend due to their ease of application and desired mechanical properties such as high compressive strength and high resilience and etc. The two most commonly use of foam polyurethane coatings are in the construction industry and transport as flooring, thermal and acoustic insulation, cushioning wall in the halls, concrete coatings, thermal insulation of chemical tanks and pipelines, theming and out of the cabin insulation, thermal insulation vehicles used as refrigerator and so on. The use of this type of coating has many advantages such as lightweight structures, good mechanical properties, direct apply on all substrate, the ability to re-coating, excellent adhesion to the substrate, fast curing, easy and completely curing at ambient temperature, prevent mold and fungus growth and etc. Polyurethane foams have different types due to the large variety of raw materials, byproducts of the polymerization reaction, a severe sensitive reaction conditions including stoichiometry of materials, temperature, catalyst type, humidity, etc. The most important determining factor of PU foam properties is its cell structure. This article includes chemical and physical properties of PU foams and the factors affecting cell structures.
